This talk was so much more than looking at pictures. It was aimed at getting us to consider what the creative process is – not just in painting and sculpture but in scientific discovery, advertising, the environment, in day-to-day living and in even in ‘creative accountancy’!
Keith encouraged us to think ‘outside the box’ or from a different perspective by interpreting in various ways what turned out to be an image of a cow – fascinating. As children our brains and creative thinking purposes are uncluttered by outside influences. Keith emphasised that this changes for many of us as we get older. But being able to ‘think outside the box’ produces some remarkable inventions such as the microwave. Just like coming to u3a meetings and joining some of the huge range of clubs available – our brains are stimulated and our outlooks on life never get stale.
